Rumen Buffer

Complementary Compound Inorganic Feed | Feed Alkalization Buffer (BUFFER)

RUMEN BUFFER is a specialized and highly effective buffering feed additive, specifically designed to regulate metabolic and digestive pH. It is included in diets with a high content of cereals and digestible carbohydrates, contributing to the reduction of the incidence of subclinical acidosis (SARA), especially in:

  • Lambs and kids in the growth and fattening phase
  • Beef cattle
  • Dairy cows and sheep

RUMEN BUFFER contains alkalizing agents such as sodium and magnesium compounds, with RUMBUFF technology, as well as slow-release yeast. These ingredients:

  • They regulate the pH of the rumen (ruminants)
  • They enhance the production of volatile fatty acids (e.g. propionic acid)
  • Improves digestive function and nutrient utilization
  • Its strong buffering capacity makes it an excellent choice for use in diets where pH stability is required. 1 kg of RUMEN BUFFER has an equivalent neutralizing capacity to 1.5 kg of sodium bicarbonate.

It is indicated in cases of:

  • High-starch diets (cereals, energy silages).
  • Thermal stress or transitional feeding phases.
  • Low quality silage or excessively rich green grass.
  • Preventing hypomagnesemia and reducing the risk of tetany.

With the systematic administration of RUMEN BUFFER:

  • The pH of the rumen is constantly regulated.
  • Stomach motility and microflora are enhanced.
  • The fat content of the milk produced increases.
  • Neuromuscular function is supported with an adequate supply of magnesium.
  • The risk of metabolic disorders (e.g. acidosis, hypomagnesemia) is reduced.
  • Pregnancy edema and dehydration are prevented.
  • The digestibility of concentrated feeds increases.
  • Indicative Dosage: Proportion % in concentrated feed:
  • Sheep/Goats: 0.5–1%
  • Cattle: 1.5–2%
  • Poultry: 0.5%
  • Pigs: 0.5–1%
  • Daily dosage per animal:
  • Sheep and goats: 10–30 g
  • Cows: 100–200 g
  • Fattening cattle: 50–100 g
  • The exact dosage is adjusted according to the technical instructions of the responsible nutritionist.
