Ovicare 800E

COMPLEMENTARY COMPOUND FEED PREGNANCY CONCENTRATE (50/50) FOR HIGH MILK PRODUCTION INTENSIVE BREEDING OF SHEEP AND GOATS.

OVICARE-800E is a nutritionally balanced, very high protein (32.5%) high quality concentrate, specially designed to ideally utilize the co-administration of cereal grains – in a ratio of 50% OVICARE-800E : 50% cereals (corn, barley, etc.) – in the mixture of concentrated feeds, during the last period of pregnancy (1.5 months before calving) and the start of milk production in high-milk producing sheep and goats raised in intensive farming. It ensures the manifestation of the high milk producing genetic potential of sheep and goats.

The administration of OVICARE-800E, during the perinatal period, helps in the proper formation of the mammary gland, so that it can respond to high milk production, in the minimization of metabolic problems (toxinemia, hypocalcemia), and liver disorders, in the proper functioning of the liver, in the production of colostrum, rich in antibodies, in the smooth start and progression towards a high milk production. It is a strategic nutritional tool for the critical perinatal period of goats and sheep, ensuring a smooth transition from pregnancy to milk production, enhancing animal health and high yields in quality and quantity of milk. It is the ideal choice for farms that aim to maximize the utilization of genetic potential with safety and efficiency.

Its administration begins 1.5 months before the expected births and continues for the next 3 weeks after birth. The total amount of the mixture, indicatively starts from 600-700gr./animal/day and increases by 100gr./animal/day for each additional week until birth. After births and up to 3 weeks later, the total mixture reaches indicatively 1400-1500gr./animal/day, as long as the roughage covers the basic maintenance needs and at least 50% of the Dry Matter of the daily ration. After the third week we enter the administration of the milk production mixture. To administer the total amount of the mixture, OVICARE-800E is mixed with cereals (corn, barley, etc.) contributing 50% of the concentrated feed (cereal grains) to improved high-milk-producing sheep and goats. It is administered in parallel with high-quality roughage (alfalfa hay and grasses, corn silage, wheat straw, etc.).

By administering OVICARE -800E, we achieve the maintenance of animal health at excellent levels and contribute to the smooth increase and development of milk production with optimum improved quality characteristics of milk (lipoprotein, lactose ash). We avoid dyspeptic acidosis due to high administration of cereal grains. It responds excellently to the demanding stages of high and very high milk production, achieving yields of over 400 liters during the lactation period.

OVICARE-800E can also be administered during the last 1.5 months of pregnancy with the corresponding percentage participation in the total indicative amount of 800-1200gr/animal/day of concentrated feed, although it is more correctly recommended to administer the special pregnancy mixture, OVICARE-500.

The exact composition of the diet is formulated in collaboration with the scientific manager, veterinarian Konstantinos Kalaitsidis.
